Penn’s own announcement of its $100 million pledge to the School District of Philadelphia ($10 million annually for ten years), described as the largest private contribution in the District’s history. Funds are designated for environmental remediation (asbestos and lead) in school buildings. Used in this casefile as the primary record of Penn’s “anchor institution” self-description and as the public-relations frame against which the Robeson closure should be read.
