Verbatim, subsection 1: a person must be registered “no later than 5:00 p.m., or the normal closing time of any public building where the registration is being held if such time is later than 5:00 p.m., on the fourth Wednesday prior to the election.” The alert’s October 7, 2026 deadline is computed from this language against a November 3, 2026 election day, not copied from a voter guide.
