Proposed rule revising HUD’s Equal Access regulations to conform them to Executive Order 14168, removing “gender identity” and defining “sex” as the order does. Comment window closed June 29, 2026 (Regulations.gov docket HUD-2026-0529, 4,607 comments; lastModified 2026-07-02; no final rule as of 2026-10-12). Cited as a second rulemaking that narrows the administrative vocabulary of housing protection; it is not a fair-housing disparate-impact rule. (Corrected 2026-10-12 on Apollo’s “3A”: the record had called it a revision narrowing fair-housing access protections and had named docket HUD-2026-0529, which does not exist.)
