Project page for the Black Bottom Street View panoramas, which says: “The photos were taken from 1949 – 1950 by the City of Detroit as part of the eminent domain process.” It also says the city demolished the neighborhood in the early 1950s and called it “slum clearance.” Black Bottom Archives (blackbottomarchives.com/bbsv) describes the same set as “over 2,000 archival photographs taken from 1949 – 1950 by the City of Detroit as part of the eminent domain process that led to Black Bottom’s demolition.”
